Testing and inspection is an integral part of electrical installations, it verifies the integrity and safety of works. This can be overlooked by other unregistered contractors and handymen and may affect insurances.
Tests provided by Custodian Electrical include:
Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC)
At the end of works including rewires, board changes, new kitchen installations, new circuitry an EIC will be issued. These should be issued for domestic and commercial installations.
Electrical Installation Conditioning Report (EICR)
This test is the fancy new name for the Periodic Installation Certificate asked for by mortgage companies and insurance companies. It is recommended that installations should be tested to verify the condition of the installations. Tests should be conducted every 5-10years for domestic installations and 3-5 years commercial.

Minor Works Certificates
These certificates often get overlooked but are very important, every minor works from changing a circuit to replacing a socket or switch must come with a minor works certificate.
Emergency Lighting Tests
This test is for commercial properties and House of Multiple Occupancies (HMO) and must be verified every 3 months.
